Dear Parents/Guardians,  

As-salamu alaykum                         

Welcome to a new and exciting year of math!  My name is Rahat Rashid and I am the Middle School Math teacher. I am looking forward to a fun year of exploring the world of numbers.  I am writing this letter to familiarize you with what your son/daughter will be responsible for in my class.  Please feel free to contact me anytime throughout the school year if you have any concerns about your child or the class.  Please read over the following information about the requirements of the course.

Every student is expected to put forth their best effort every day. This means always being aware of the classroom rules and procedures.  My goal is to achieve a safe/nurturing classroom environment where everyone feels comfortable. I believe this environment will help all students reach their full potential.The Sixth Grade team will meet on a weekly basis to discuss any student concerns regarding student behavior and/or academic growth. If we may have any concern or worry about your child you will be receiving a phone call to discuss the matter. The school will also be holding three Parent Teacher Conferences throughout the whole school year and we encourage every parent to make an effort to attend and follow up with their child’s progress. Also please note, if your have any questions, comments or concerns we are available for phone calls, emails or meetings (by appointments) each day during school hours. You may contact us directly or call the school office and request a meeting with us.
