Grade 8 Science
Al-Madinah Middle School
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
Assalamu A’laykum! Welcome to 8th Grade Science. This new school year has many new experiences in store for us all. It’s truly an honor and privilege to be working with your children this year. It is my intention to make this course as intriguing and enjoyable as possible for my students while also forcing them to think deeper and on a more complex level. I hope that my time spent with your child not only motivates them in an academic sense, but also inspires them to be good, humble, and kind individuals.
Students will be made aware of classroom rules, regulations, and consequences on the first day of class. Considering that 8th grade students will be sitting the State Science Exam; it is crucial to have their attention, focus, participation, and attendance. The syllabus will be discussed with the students on the first day of class. And the students will understand the expectations for the marking period.
Myself and the other 8th Grade teachers will gather on a weekly basis to discuss any issues or concerns and evaluate the best and most appropriate way to handle any situation that may arise.
As the parents, you too, play an incredibly crucial role in your child’s education. Please ensure that your child studies and does homework and projects. On the School’s website, I have posted a multitude of resources. Students must subscribe to me in order to access the weekly PowerPoints covered in class, Quiz and Exam study guides, as well as other important information, and dates.
As a teacher, my goal is to be encouraging, motivational, supportive, but also challenging. I intend on making this class as understandable as possible, but I will also challenge students to help them think more critically. My goal is not only to prep the students for the State Exam, but to mold them into caring, sincere, humble, and ambitious individuals. I look forward to meeting with you on Friday September 22nd, 2018 InshaAllah.
Feel free to send me an email should you have questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and your children InshaAllah.
