Dear parents and students,
I would like to welcome you both to a new school year 2018- 2019 at Al- Madinah middle school. You have much to look forward to as a new member of our exciting school year. A team of teachers will work together and share the responsibility for teaching the curriculum in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. All of us are thrilled that you have joined us, and we will work hard to create a powerful, positive, and productive educational year. It is our mission to students to achieve academic success as well as grow socially and emotionally in a safe Islamic environment.
I will address my specific subject related goals, classroom rules and also consequences for negligence for this school year. Students will receive textbooks and planners during the first week of the school. Students will also receive a Marking Period Syllabus which will address the brief description of course materials, marking period objectives, dates of assignments and when they are due and the grading policy in the first week of each marking period.
I am expecting your support and cooperation to guarantee your child`s success in seven grades and also to create a healthy and effective school environment. I am requesting you to encourage your child at home by following up and seeing that they have completed their assignments and are prepared for benchmarks and quizzes.
The Seven Grade team will meet every week to discuss any student concerns regarding student behavior and/or academic growth. If we may have any concern or worry about your child, you will receive a phone call to discuss the matter. The school will also be holding three Parent Teacher Conferences throughout the whole school year and I encourage every parent to make an effort to attend and follow up with their child’s progress. Also, please note, if you have any questions, comments or concerns we are available for phone calls, emails or meetings (by appointments) each day during school hours. You may contact us directly or call the school office and request a meeting with us.
With passionate and diligent teachers, hard-working and tenacious students, and actively involved and supportive parents, the year ahead is sure to be a success!
