Welcome

September 5th, 2018

Alsalamu Alykum

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!!

On behalf of my school team, we hope this Back to School letter finds you enjoying the leisure and laughter a fun summer can offer.  We at Almadinah are busily preparing the building for the students and the teachers, who will be back very soon. I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2018-2019 School Year! For those of you who are new to our school, I want you to know that you are coming to an absolutely wonderful place. Our teachers and staff are passionate, caring, hardworking, and always learning something new for the benefit of your children. We are a collaborative and driven group of people who take learning seriously while also making personal connections that help kids succeed.

For the past five years I have been a math and science teacher at Almadinah and am now honored to take on the role of reteaching the 5th grade mathematics this year. This school is where success lies, and I consider it the perfect opportunity and place to do the most important work in the world. There is no other place to be!

I am thrilled at the opportunity to get to know all of you this year and engage in the educational process together. I am a big believer in communication and honesty. If we are honest with each other and communicate with each other then we will be successful. I also believe that building strong relationships between home and school is a key factor in increasing student achievement. As a teacher, my door is always open and I welcome your input. I strongly believe that parental involvement is an essential component to student success, as research continues to show strong correlation between increased involvement and high student success.

Sincerely

Br. Mostafa Elbasal

UPDATED H.W. POLICY FOR 5TH GRADE MATH AND SCIENCE

Alsalamu Alykum

Students have completed the required pages of the Volume 1 book. As we have integrated our grading policy to a computerized system (i.e. Gradelink), we will also integrate the H.W. to an online homework that is to be solved and submitted through Pearson realize. Students should be able to view their grade upon completion of the homework. However, the grade will be accepted and added to Gradelink once the student submits the work for each problem the following day.

Homework Policy

Alsalamu Alykum, students have received their math and science workbooks. Therefore, the homework will be assigned from the workbooks until the end of the year. As for the homework that is due on Monday, students are to solve pages 235 and 236 of their math workbook, plus review their science notes.
