Resources to help with Learning

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ
I am sure that everyone would love for their children to improve on the subjects that your children will be learning. I will be adding additional resources throughout the year that can be helpful to your child. These will be educational videos that will be engaging to the children.

For starters, I would like to encourage parents to have their kids watch numberblocks on youtube. It is a great way for the children to learn addition and subtraction (and even challenging concepts like multiplication). They will, also, be learning future concepts that will be discussed later on the year (for example, making groups to add and subtract).

On another note, all of the children in second grade can greatly improve their English writing and reading skills. The best tool for that is the parents themselves. Read with your children (it could be 10-15 minutes before bed or even just 5 minutes for a short story). Talk to them and use different words to describe your emotions or an event that may be occurring so they can copy you.

We, the faculty, really do hope the children are happy and their minds are being filled with new information while their manners are the best we can hope for.
These are fun websites for children to develop their math skills in an interactive way so they can add and subtract accurately and quickly!
